No.1 The moisture content of domestic steel plates is high: When comparing the crystal mirror analysis of the same model of domestic steel plates and foreign steel plates, the proportion of alloy elements is different, key elements are lacking, the crystal density is low, and the element precipitation is uneven. Therefore, the hydraulic shears’ structural components made from domestic steel plates cannot withstand high-strength operations.
No.2 Domestic heat treatment technology is lagging behind: Key components of hydraulic shears require precise heat treatment processes such as quenching, tempering, annealing, carburizing, etc. However, the quality of heat treatment technicians in our country is not up to standard. For instance, the tempering time for a single component must be 40 minutes, but in reality, it is completed in less than 30 minutes to achieve maximum efficiency and profit. Moreover, due to strict environmental regulations in China, all heat treatment processes are carried out using gas heating methods, which inevitably leads to incomplete structural crystal formation and insufficient temperature for carburizing.
No.3 Domestic processing and assembly skills are poor: The tolerance and fit requirements for the hydraulic shears are very strict. Especially for the boring process of the knife body and the assembly process, the concentricity error of the shaft holes is ≥ 1μ. When it comes to the contact between the blades, the error can reach up to 5mm. The surface finish of the hydraulic shears’ body must be <0.003. Seeing these processing requirements, do you still think that the hydraulic shears are just a simple part of an excavator?
No.4 There are no high-quality blade manufacturers in China.
No.5 There is no production technology for acceleration and boost valves in China: As is well known, excavators are equipped with hydraulic shears, and the large pump supplies oil to the thick oil cylinder of the hydraulic shears. To make the hydraulic shears of the excavator powerful and forceful, many domestic manufacturers simply increase the thickness of the hydraulic shears’ oil cylinder. However, they don’t realize that while increasing the thickness of the oil cylinder, the cutting action of the hydraulic shears also slows down. Without the acceleration valve, the oil cylinder operates more slowly and is less efficient!
