It’s not advisable for the excavator to break down at a critical moment.

This huge excavator, through a series of movements such as moving and rotating, completes very dangerous and difficult construction tasks. And precisely for this reason, every single movement of the excavator must be flawless.

Causes of failure:

No.1: The coupling between the engine and the hydraulic pump is damaged, resulting in the hydraulic pump not being able to output power. This phenomenon is relatively easy to detect. First, check if there is a pulsating vibration in the hydraulic pump pipeline. If there is none, then check if the hydraulic oil in the oil tank is circulating. If the oil pipe does not vibrate and the hydraulic oil is not circulating, then it can be confirmed that the coupling is damaged.

No. 2: If there is a shortage of hydraulic oil, it can also cause the entire vehicle to fail to operate. At this point, you can check whether the hydraulic oil is sufficient. If it is insufficient, you need to replenish the hydraulic oil. If the hydraulic oil suddenly runs out, before replenishing it, you must first check which part is leaking to determine the cause.

The common leakage points are usually hydraulic oil pipes and the traveling motor. After locating the leakage point through investigation, repair it, and then replenishing the hydraulic oil will be no problem.

No. 3: The main overflow valve is always in an open state. This situation mainly occurs because there are too many impurities in the hydraulic oil, causing the main overflow valve to get stuck in the constantly open position. Therefore, no matter how you operate the handle, the excavator will not move.

No. 4: Damage to the safety solenoid valve and valve core can also cause no action. If the safety solenoid valve is damaged and fails to attract the valve core, it will result in the absence of control oil in the pilot system. Consequently, it will be impossible to control the valve core of the main control valve, and thus no action will occur.

If the valve core of the safety solenoid valve gets stuck, regardless of whether the solenoid valve is good or not, the valve core will be inoperative. Similarly, the pilot system will also have no control oil and will be unable to enable the excavator to work.

No.5: If the safety switch is damaged, then there will be no control signal reaching the safety solenoid valve to engage the valve core. This will also cause the excavator to remain stationary. In such cases, simply replace it with a new one and adjust its position properly to enable normal operation.
Summary:

During the daily construction process, if a problem like “the entire vehicle does not move” occurs, most drivers or managers will choose to immediately shut down the machine and wait for the maintenance personnel to arrive.

However, in fact, as long as we have a thorough observation of the fault phenomenon, we can definitely check the cause of the fault by ourselves. This not only saves time but also reduces the losses caused by the fault.
